More in the north of Broome, about 200 km, there you find Cape Leveque. This is an absolutly amazing and beautiful spot on our earth. It is owened and run by the Aboriginals Bardi Jawi Comunity. The Kooljaman wilderness camp at Cape Leveque is absolutly unique and a natural place withe at least no competition. The deep red cliffs sourrounded by white sandy beaches with black stones and the deep blue indian ocean is one-of-a-kind.
The Kooljaman wilderness camp offers only limited space for overnight stay, over all the landscape the access is well organized, what gets the whole experience more authentic. The Aborignials take care on their land and make strong restrictions for all the tourists.
Nevertheless it‘s allways possible to go for a walk on the beach and to see the impressive red cliffs during the sunset. A walk from the west to the east beach (or reverse) takes within 30 min during the low tide.
At Cape Leveque there is also the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, where it is possible to have a look at the natural growing of pearls and also to buy pearls.
It‘s somehow difficult to describe the fascinating scenery of Cape Leveque, let‘s take a look on it:
