Heading north on the Great Northern Highway the next City will be Broome. To have a comfortable trip, we are going to stopp at the Sandfire Roadhouse after nearly 300 km. The second part to Broome, another 320 km we will drive on the next day. For Aussies it‘s more then usually to go for 600-700 km a day, but we won‘t hurry and so we go with more passion.
Every Roadhouse is it absolutly worth it to stopp and jump in. Each is such unique and amazing, it‘s fantastic what you find here. The first Roadhouse on the way is the Pardoo Roadhouse which hast a nice Restaurant and Tavern and as usual with a caravan park and cabins for the night. A roadhouse is like a „All-in-One but only important things shop“. You may find everything you really need like overnight places, food and drinks, worker tools and petrol. The prices are a little bit higher then in a city but you get all and this at the Outback.
At the Sandfire Roadhouse the shop and restaurant closes at 07:00 pm. This is absoluty perfect in harmony to the winter time. The sunset is at 05:30 pm and at 07:00 pm it‘s dark outside and nothing more to do then drink 😉 . Or there is the clear, dark sky with all the stars and you may see the milky way just by looking, what a amazing moment to realise that this is possible.
The plan for Broome is to stay one night, go further north and be back in some days for a longer stay. In the afternoon it is perfect to enjoy the beautyful cable beach in the north part of Broome. This beach is also famous for the camel rides, which are good subjects for nice pictures during the sunset. On the beach are plenty of people with their cars – must been 100 cars (4WD only) to see the sunset and take some fotos of the camels.
