We are on our way back south and so we come to Mildura at Victoria. So we have travelled 5 state of Australia except Western Australia, which we did on our last trips. So the biggest state we didn’t have travled this time. We achieved now the wine region of Australia. Here in Wentworth the rivers Murray come together. The Darling is Australia longest river within 2740 km and the Murray ist Australia largest river and second in length 2508 km. This get together may be looked at the toria and South Australia.
At Mildura a quiet big town at the beginning of the outback is a lot to see and to do, for example wine tasting at one of the wineries. We decide to go for a river cruise on a Steampaddler the “Melbourne”, which is original of the year 1912 and still works perfectly because it’s treated absolutely good of the crew. What an amazing experience in such a beautyful scenery.
The Murray has still 884 km from here to the entering at the southern ocean but it’s only 31m over sea level right at Mildura. So the gradient for the water for about 884 km is really flat.
Certainly we also go for wine tasting in this great wine region.
