We stuck at Alice Springs because we do have to fix a car problem and here at Alice Springs we do have the necessary car agency. So we decieded to use the time we have and drive to the Standley Chasm (Standley Chasm, Iwupataka Aboriginal Land Trust) at the West Macs – West Mac Donnell Ranges only a stone‘s throw from Alices Springs away (50 km west).
The Standley Chasm isn‘t only a beauty of nature, it is also a historical monument of the Aboriginals people. However it‘s open for tourists and it‘s a impressive canyon.
It‘s possible to make different hikes up here. For us the short walk to the canyon and back (approx. 20 Min each way) is perfect.
During the drive we are such fascinated of the green of the outback over again and over again. The weather is fine but cloudy and the precipation was to have some rain, but it stays dry but the humidity grows up and the temperature stays at 32° Celcius.
