Our fligth from Birdsville takes us over Coongie Lakes, a nice big wet land in the middle of the Outback. Nichelle comes and picks us up at the airstrip of to the Innamincka Hotel, where we have our room. First thing to do, go to the bar of the Innaminka Hotel. The bigger restaurant and bar of the hotel are still closed because it’s low season.
The next moring Goeff drives us to various intersting and historical places around Innanmicka and Coopers Creek. First we visit the Coopers Creek crossing, which still has such a lot of water so birds and dingos are here for fishing – these may be observed if you are lucky enough. The next point we visit is the tory. The tour too. The especially Tree point at the Coopers Creek shows how hard it was to go for successful expetions at the middle of 1800. All that takes about 100 km to drive – one way.
Back at Innamincka it’s nearly lunch time, just a short trip to the campground and Policemans Point at the Cooper Creek as also a short walk on the cemetery of Innamincka. Now the half day has been gone and we go for lunch at the Innamincka Hotel. After Lunch we fly back to Leigh Creek with another exicting view of the Outback including the Moomba gas and oil fields.
Next stopp for us is once again the Prairie Hotel, Parachilna. We go for there another night but first we tell Jane a lot about this exclusiv and fantastic tour, she organized for us.
