After a short talk to the police man at Parachilna its better to change our plans and to do not drive the Strzelecki track and the Birdsville track. The road conditons aren’t good to go for a accepable drive and the police man we ask at Parachilna only said “How many spare wheels and tires are carrying with you…”
Jane Fargher, one of the owner of the Prairie Hotel at Parachilna, offred us to organize a trip by plane. So we started at Leight Creek up to Williams Creek and from ther over Lake Eyer. This lake shows an amazing and spectular scenery because it has a thousend of birds like Pelicans and other birds, all came in over a thousend of kilometers from the beaches of Australia. There is water in the lake, so the Lake Eyer may be seen in 3 different colours, what a fantastic experience.
Then the fligth takes us over the Simpson dessert up to Birdsville and futher up to Innamincka including a overnight stay at Innamincka and a Tour at the Coopers Creek and around Innamincka. This all in two days. What an great and perfect arrangement for us. And all that was organized in one day – many thanks to Jane Fargher.
Birdsville is a small Outback twon with about 100 permanent residents. We hit the low season so the Backery is still closed – but it’s worth it to visit Birdsville and the Hotel. At the Birdsville Hotel bar we may enjoy cool drinks – especially beers – and someting to eat.
Our trip to Innamincka shows us a nice green Outback.
