To follow the Route 66 brings us from Claremore (OK), Lebanon (MO) up to St. Louis, Missouri and Illinois.
First stopp is ton” target=”_blank”>Afton (OK) which is a small village but there is a remarkable, operable privat collection of Packard and Studebaker cars of the years 1939 – 1959.
Further on the way to Claremore we cross Tulsa. But there is not much too see for us in this city which has the hugest “Christian University” of the U.S. The weather is rainy and sunny and Tulsa seems to be a very quiet spot.
At Catoosa a suburb of Tulsa we go to visit the “Hardrock Hotel and Casino” which belongs to the Hardrock Cafe chain. Up in there the feeling of Las Vegas (NV) returns.
Claremore is just a short distance of Catoosa but also there nothing is going on and so our journey brings us to Miami (OK), towards to Joplin and Springfield (OK). Springfield presents a nice downtown center and so we take a break here.
Next village we pass is Lebanon (MO). There is not much to see too, it’s a small town with a bit Route 66 flair.
But we always enjoying to drive on the Route 66 and on many parts of the Old Route 66. It’s so gorgeous and interesting.
And now we look forward to go to the “Jazz and Blues City” St. Louis at the Mississippi.
